This dedicated room is warmly lit by a combination of soft overhead lights & strategically placed reading lamps. The centrepiece of the room is an exquisite, intricately designed wooden bookshelf that spans from floor to ceiling. It is divided into distinct sections, each reserved to different themes of Islamic literature, Quranic translations, self help books & medical books.
Starting from the top shelf, a collection of beautifully bound Qur’an translations in various languages sits on a rich velvet- lined ledge. Just below a section of classical Islamic texts, including works by scholars like Ibn Taymiyyah & Imam Ghazali, stands neatly arranged, capturing the essence of Islamic philosophy & mysticism.
Continuing downward, the shelves host a selection of modern Islamic literature, covering topics such as ethics, history & contemporary issues. Prominent titles from authors like Tariq Ramadan, Reza Aslan etc.. provide a well rounded view of Islam’s place in the World.
Transitioning to the middle section, I’ll find an array of self help & personal development books. Titles like “Instant insights” , ” Disciplining the soul” , ” Diseases of the hearts and their cures” share space with more recent best sellers like “Atomic habits” & “Power of now”. This blend of wisdom provides a holistic approach to self – improvement, aligning with islamic values of self awareness & self discipline.
The lower shelves are dedicated to Islamic art & architecture, showcasing books featuring intricate calligraphy, stunning mosque designs , & beautiful geometric patterns. A section on Islamic cooking adds a touch of cultural enrichment.
One side of the room, adjacent to the Islamic literature section, a dedicated area for medical books is established.
Starting from the top shelf of the Medical section, a collection of medical reference books & textbooks takes its place. These books cover a wide range of medical disciplines, from anatomy & physiology to pharmacology & Medical ethics. Prominent medical encyclopaedias & dictionaries find a spot here as well.
Moving down , the next shelf is designated for books focusing on Islamic medicine & traditional healing practices. Works exploring the historical contributions of Muslim scholars to the field of medicine are showcased here, along with modern interpretations & applications of traditional treatments.
The 3rd shelf accommodates books that bridge the gap between Islamic principles & modern medical practices. Titles that discuss bioethics, & the integration of faith & medicine offer insights into how Islamic values can inform contemporary healthcare.
Lastly the lower shelf houses books on personal health & well being, including topics like nutrition, exercise, mental health & mindfulness. Titles that align with islamic dietary guidelines & emphasize holistic self-care are thoughtfully arranged here.
In one corner of the room, a cozy reading nook is nestled. It features a plush armchair , a small side table for a cup of tea or coffee, & a soft rug adorned with patterns reminiscent of traditional Islamic art. This reading area invites you to dive into the pages of the books, surround by the rich tapestry of Islamic knowledge.
The uniqueness of my dream lies in its careful curation, which allows for a seamless blend of religious, intellectual, personal & profesional growth pursuits. This room will be a sanctuary for contemplation, learning & spiritual development, where the diversity of books fosters a deeper understanding of the world & oneself.✨
